This model is nicknamed the "John Lennon" guitar as it is a direct Reissue of the guitar given to Lennon in February 1964 by F.C. Hall of Rickenbacker, and was a defining feature of his look in 64-65, the height of "Beatlemania". He can be seen playing it in the Beatles' first live US appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show on February 9th, 1964.
